Death to America: Major American Cities Targeted By Terrorists?

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By David Ben-Ariel Will Providence permit foreign murderers in our midst (in attitude, if not yet in action) to unleash nuclear fires within our major cities? Will militant minorities work with them against us? Won’t our British-Israelite brethren suffer the same within their respective biblical inheritances? If our beloved nation has refused to remember our Hebrew roots and biblical responsibilities (and forswear foreign religious ways and hollow days of pagan origin God’s Word condemns) and sustain a healthy interest in the spiritual and return to the God of the Bible, aren’t we only reaping more of what we’ve sown and suffering cause and effect, the dire consequences of our national sins? (Daniel 9:11). Will the Great God of history and all Creation let us continue to get knocked down and around until Europe deals us the death blow? Are we headed for the disasters of food and water shortages, race riots, terrorist sleeper cells activated, supernatural weather and plagues of biblical proportion until we suffer NATIONAL DEFEAT AND DEPORTATION? Is the fascist EU destined to conquer the Anglo-Saxons and Jews? Will we save ourselves and our loved ones from the savage state of near extinction, hear and heed the warnings of imminent famine, destruction and houses left desolate? (2 Chronincles 7:14). Or will we demand divine intervention after three and a half years of “hell” before Heaven is established on Earth? The choice is ours to make. God help us to CHOOSE LIFE! Isaiah 1:4-9 4Alas, sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, They have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel, They have turned away backward. 5Why should you be stricken again? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick [the government], And the whole heart faints [national morale]. 6From the sole of the foot even to the head, There is no soundness in it, But wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; They have not been closed or bound up, Or soothed with ointment. 7Your country is desolate, Your cities are burned with fire; Strangers devour your land in your presence; And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. 8So the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard, As a hut in a garden of cucumbers, As a besieged city. 9Unless the LORD of hosts Had left to us a very small remnant [some Holocaust survivors], We would have become like Sodom, We would have been made like Gomorrah [totally extinct, destroyed]. Prime Reality And Religion

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By Kate Gardens While no human being will ever understand or discover the full truth in this life on earth, they can accept Gods word as true because they see the truth that they can see in the flesh, and take the remainder on faith. The truth is Gods Word, which is manifest in the Holy Bible and ultimately in His Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The external reality orbiting humanity is made up of concrete materials based in the Periodic Table of chemistry. This is true for everything in our Milky Way Galaxy and the universe as far as we are able to see it. While new elements in the periodic table are being discovered, they are unstable derivations of elements already discovered. God created all the elements on the Periodic Table via mathematics a fundamental creation of His own. According to Genesis 1:27, in the Holy Bible So God created human beings in his own image. n the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. The American Heritage Dictionary defines a human as a bipedal primate mammal. A human being is a member of the race of beings that God designed and created for companionship and close friendship, to replace the relationship God lost when Lucifer was expelled from Heaven to become Satan, the ruler of the world. Human beings are the beings closest to God, followed in importance by angels, which are the servants of, and messengers, to mankind. It is a well known scientific fact that energy can not be either created or destroyed. Scientifically, the human body contains energy that is the mind and soul and it must go somewhere after the body dies and this energy continues to exist. The body is an empty shell that is buried or burned, while the spirit and essence of the human being leaves the body after death to dwell in either Heaven or hell forever. Writing Contests for Teens - Something to Do With a Boring Summer!

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Michelle L Devon Somewhere between standardized testing, number 2 pencils, and bubble in the circle…children lose their love for learning. With the loss of funding in most schools, and in some places so much so that there is not enough money to supply even text books, the fine arts programs take a back seat to math, science and language. Learning stopped being fun for kids somewhere around the time that the music programs were slashed, fine arts and art classes were removed or made extracurricular, and school libraries have to make do with what they can get through grants and donations. All children need a way to escape, to be transported to magical times and places, faraway lands they may never visit in real life, or take a trip through history. Video games have become the way of the future, but there’s not a lot to be learned from a video game. So how can children learn while also enjoying the experience? By reading! The problem is, reading isn’t as exciting to children as it once was. Computers, video games, internet, and other such modern marvels have taken the place of a good book in many youngster’s lives. There is nothing wrong with these kids loving the internet, and there is much that can be gained by using the internet. In fact, a lot of these children use blogs as a creative expression and outlet, so they are writing. So why not take that writing these kids are doing and put it to some creative use? There is a way. Several small publishers have opened up writing and illustration contests to young readers. These contests allow children to use their creative talents while also having a chance to be published in books or periodicals sold all over the country and even receive royalty contracts or scholarships. One such publisher, who has created contests for kids this summer, and they also plan to keep contests running for children all year round, is Koboca Publishing. I recently spoke with Bo Savino, the author of Reggie & Ryssa, and the Summer Camp of Faery, one of the books used for facilitating this contest through Koboca Publishing, and here is what she had to say about the children’s contests: "I am very excited about the contests… [They are] going to be a great thing to energize kids…I love that most of all." While most traditional writing and illustration contests have entry fees, Koboca Publishing’s contests for kids don’t have any entry fees at all. When I asked why Koboca Publishing decided not to charge an entry fee, here is what they had to say: "No entry fees…. and [we] could probably make some money from entry fees…but [we] want it available for all kids…and some won’t be able to do it with entry fees." There are other small publishers and magazine publications / periodicals that offer writing and illustration contests for children too. Some of these charge small entry fees, some charge no entry fees, but they all offer a child a way to see their name and their art or work in print, while at the same time bringing back a love for literature and the arts. To find these contests, simply use your favorite search engine and search for children’s literature or writing contests. Be sure to always check the authenticity of the contests before entering or allowing your child to enter into the contest. These contests can help foster a love for the fine arts again, by getting kids involved in the literary and illustrative process, making them a part of something bigger, along with some noteriaty that all kids crave. Why not pick up a few copies of some interesting books for your kids today and get them started on a journey into the unknown that reading can bring? After a few books, help your kids get involved in writing or illustrating for publishing companies that hold these contests for the types of books they enjoy. Not only will this help bring a love of the written word back to your child, but it just might keep them busy during those long summer months and you will no longer hear, "Mom, I’m sooo bored. There’s nothing to do!" Good luck to all who choose to enter contests this year! Getting Fired: Strategies For Dealing With Getting Terminated

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By Carl Mueller Getting fired used to be something that many people figured would ruin their career. Obviously, getting fired isnt an ideal situation but its certainly something that can be dealt with, so that you get back into the work world again quickly with a minimum of discomfort. Perhaps as a society weve gotten used to hearing about people being fired, whether it was the whole dot com bubble bursting which resulted in thousands of companies closing and jobs being lost. Perhaps were used to hearing about managers and coaches in professional sports constantly being fired and then resurfacing with another team and have gotten used to the concept. Maybe were numb from listening to the latest corporate executive who has been charged with some offence and know that whatever happens, theyll land on their feet at another corporation once the legal dust has settled. In other words, we know that being fired doesnt have to be a death knell. Here are some strategies for dealing with getting fired so that you can get back on your feet as soon as possible: Tell The Truth At this point probably the worst thing you can do is lie when explaining why you got fired. If youve been fired and are then caught in a lie, that makes you a liar who got fired so youve got two strikes against you. Getting fired doesnt necessarily mean of course that your boss walks into your office and yells youre fired! This isnt Hollywood Getting fired might mean that your contract simply wasnt renewed, it could mean there was a difference of opinion between you and your manager, it could be a result of a new manager getting rid of staff so that he/she can bring in friends of theirs. Trust me, this happens all the time. Conflict is something that we humans are quite good at and the truth is that we wont get along with everyone that we come into contact with. When telling interviewers why you were fired, just remember to:Tell the truth. Tell people what happened and what you have learned from the experience.Take responsibility and dont point fingers looking for other people to blame.Keep your answer brief. Dont start rambling and tell a long story which could get you into more trouble by making you look defensive. My experience dealing with job searchers who were fired are that the ones who land back on their feet the quickest are the ones who understand why they were fired, understand what they need to do to minimize the chances of it happening again and are honest about what happened. Believe me, the ones who lie are usually very easy to spot. Use Your References To Defend You Ideally, you will have several references from the company who fired you who can defend you and can speak positively about your time with the company. If you can find several former colleagues or management-level staff who can give a reference and positively explain your departure, youll be one step closer in your job search. As mentioned above, from time to time we all run into someone whose personality clashes with ours so if your ex-boss was the problem, think about who else you can use. Perhaps the job just didnt match your skills and experience as well as it should have. Whatever the reason for being fired, having several people who worked with you who can highlight your positive attributes and alleviate any concerns a future employer might have will only help you chances of landing a new job quickly. In my experience, when I have worked with a job searcher who had been fired, Ive normally done at least one reference check right away to determine whether or not the person was telling me the truth with regards to their reason for being fired. When the reference check alleviates my concerns by explaining why the person was fired and if they can show me that the firing might have simply been an explainable situation that was not the result of a fundamental flaw in the persons background, I feel much more comfortable helping that person find a new job. Further, I feel better speaking with potential employers about this person and comfortably dealing with the reasons why they should look at hiring someone who was recently fired. Be Prepared To Lose Out On Some Job Opportunities The reality is that some potential employers will shy away from you when they find out you were fired and the reason behind it. In some cases, you might not be able to avoid this if the employer doesnt have an open mind or if the reason you were fired was very serious. You can help your own cause by following the two points listed above but you can also improve your chances at finding a new job by trying to find a new job right away. When you get fired, taking time off for an extended vacation or to figure out what you want to do next in your career might not be the best thing you can do because then not only do you have to explain why you were fired you also have to explain the gap in your resume, which means you might have two strikes against you, not one. The reality is that if you are dealing with being fired, you want to minimize the number of reasons that a potential employer could look past you at this point. Now is not the time to put further doubt in the mind of people who could be looking to hire you. If a potential employer hears that youve been fired and then sees that you havent worked in several months, this could send the wrong message. They could think that you are having trouble getting a new job and would then further question why they should hire you. Getting fired means that your job search might be a bit more difficult than it would otherwise be if you had been still employed. If you understand the reasons for getting fired, take responsibility, tell the truth, and get people to help honestly defend you, you should get back on your feet quickly. Carl Mueller is an Internet entrepreneur and professional recruiter. Coin Collecting - My Beginners Guide To Error Coin Collecting

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

By John P. Shields As defined by the ANA, an error is a numismatic item that unintentionally varies from the norm. Ordinarily, overdates are not errors since they were done intentionally while other die-cutting mistakes are considered errors. Double dies, planchet clips, off-metal strikings, etc. also are errors. For everyday use, error variety coins are separated into major & minor errors. In general, a coin with a major error would be easily identified by eyeballing the coin. Minor errors tend to be virtually undetectable with the naked eye. Close scrutiny with a 15x magnifying glass reveals these errors. The appeal to collectors is 1) readily found in circulation, 2) premium value depending on error and coin condition and 3) enough research and fun to make it worth your while. There are many different error types can be found in circulation. Listed below are some of the common CONSEA terms of minor error coins acquired through general circulation (pocket change). - Bubble Plating these planchets have gases trapped between the core material and the plating - Die clash For the wheat cent, look under Lincoln’s chin for an upside down T of CENT on the obverse and between the E of ONE and the N of CENT for Lincoln’s tie on the reverse. For the Memorial cent, look for the vertical columns of the memorial building both in front of and behind Lincoln’s head, as well as for the horizontal building lines through the 1 of the date. (These have recently been promoted as prisoner cents because the clash makes Lincoln appear as if he were behind bars). On the reverse, look in the first three bays of the building for an incused and upside down RTY of LIBERTY. Also, often Lincoln’s head can be seen through the letters of ONE CENT. 1999-D 1c with clash marks. - Die Crack These coins exhibit raised irregular lines as a result of a crack in the die. - Die Scratches These are raised thin lines, usually on the fields of a struck coin (though they may occasionally be seen on the design), which are created by the abrading of a die. It is the pattern of the die scratches which makes them important. - Double Die If the working hub and working die with its initial image are not fitted together properly in the press, a doubled image occurs on the die. This doubled die will in turn transfer a doubled image to every coin it produces. - Rotated Die Coins are struck with coin alignment; that is, the top of one side is the bottom of the other side. If a die becomes loose in its holder or was installed with an incorrect alignment, it is said to have rotated. The greater the rotation over 15 degrees, the greater the value to collectors. - RPM These coins exhibit a mintmark that has at least a doubled image due to its being repunched. - Struck Through (1) Grease filled die. This coin exhibits weak or missing design elements due to the die being clogged with a combination of grease, dirt, and iron filings. There is a rough surface where the design element is missing. (2) String. This coin exhibits an incused thin line, usually in a wavy or circular pattern, from a piece of thread that curled up on the die or planchet. (3) Wire. This coin exhibits an incused thin line from a piece of wire or bristle from a wire brush that came between it and the die. A standard piece of equipment in a machine shop is a wire brush or file card that is used to clean the grooves of a file. The pressman periodically uses the brush to clean the press and the dies when they become clogged with grease and dirt. Falling bristles can find their way into the coining chamber and be struck into a coin. These often appear in a U shape and have been incorrectly called staples. Before spending the money on reference books, go to your public library and check out two numerous reference books on error type collecting. The Cherrypickers Guide To Rare Die VarietiesThe Official Price Guide To Mint Errors. The World Wide Web has many references for various error types. Do a search on error coin varieties and sit back while you sift through the myriad of returned references and links. On take the simple approach and go to the American Numismatic Association web site ana.com Authentication services are available to aid individuals having difficulties understanding or identifying any puzzling coins. As these services are not free, check with your local coin dealer first. Ready to get your feet wet? Pick through some pennies until you find a 1991p Lincoln cent. With a magnifying glass, look at the date. The digit one in 91 appears to be much shorter than the other digits in the date. Now find the same coin with the 1 that is the same length as the other digits. This error is said to be a result of a worn-die but the short digit specimen appears more far commonplace than the full size digit. For those looking for a little more challenge, assemble a type set of 1960 to 2000 Lincoln cents with reverse die cracks. Better yet, make that both p & d mints. You only need 77 specimens! A recent purchase of a cent roll yielded two coins with field die cracks and four others with design errors. To make things more interesting, another coin has an interesting but unidentified error. That is where the real fun begins. Aeronautics and Air Pressure Science Proejcts for Homeschool Families

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By Aurora Lipper Take your science projects to the next level with this in-depth look at Air Pressure. There’s air surrounding us everywhere, all at the same pressure of 14.7 psi (pounds per square inch). It’s the same force you feel on your skin whether you’re on the ceiling or the floor, under the bed or in the shower. An interesting thing happens when you change a pocket of air pressure - things start to move. This difference in pressure that causes movement is what creates winds, tornadoes, airplanes to fly, and some of the experiments we’re about to do right now. An important thing to remember is that higher pressure always pushes things around. (Meaning lower pressure does not “pull”, but rather that we think of higher pressure as a “push”.) Another interesting phenomenon occurs with fast-moving air particles. When air moves fast, it doesn’t have time to push on a nearby surface, like an airplane wing. It just zooms by, barely having time to touch the surface. The air particles are really in a rush. Think of really busy people driving fast in their cars. They are so busy doing other things and driving fast to get somewhere that they don’t have time to just sit and relax. Air pressure works the same way. When the air zooms by a surface (like an airplane wing) like fast cars, the fast air has no time to push on the surface and just sit there, so not as much air weight gets put on the surface. Less weight means less force on the area. (Think of “pressure” as force on a given area or surface.) This causes a less (or lower) pressure region wherever there is faster air movement. Confused? Great! Let’s try some experiments out to straighten out these concepts so they make sense to you. Okay, let’s begin. Air Takes Space In a big bowl (or sink or tub) full of water, lower a clear cup, mouth downward, into the water. Let some of the air escape slowly into a second submerged cup (as if you were pouring the air up). Remove one cup and realign the other mouth-downward, and using a flexible straw, blow into the mouth of the downward-facing cup. Magic Water Glass Trick Fill a glass two-thirds with water. Cover the mouth with an index card and invert (holding the card in place) over a sink. Remove your hand from the card. Voila! The card stays in place because air is heavier than water, and the card experiences about 15 pounds of force pushing upward by the air and only about one pound of force pushing downward from the water hence the card stays in place. (Try this with two glasses stacked mouth-to-mouth with the index card sandwiched in the middle. Remove the card) Plumber Magic Take two clean old-fashioned, red rubber-and-wood-stick plungers and stick them together (you may need to wet the rims first). Try to separate them. Why is it so hard? When you rammed them together, air was forced out of the cavity that the insides make when pushed together, leaving you with a lower air pressure pocket inside, compared to the surrounding air pressure of 14.7 pounds per square inch (psi) outside the plungers. Higher pressure always pushes and thus is keeping the plungers together. Magic Egg Trick Remove the shell from a hard-boiled egg and use a bottle with a neck large enough that the egg can be squeezed through (without squashing it) old fashioned milk bottles work great. Light a match and toss it in, quickly setting the egg (small-end down) on the mouth of the bottle. The air inside gets used up by the flame, lowering the air pressure inside the bottle. The higher pressure, now outside the bottle, pushes on the egg and pops it in. (To remove the egg, turn the bottle upside down and get the egg to be small-end down inside the bottle near the mouth. Blow hard into the mouth of the bottle.) Barometer Fill a cup two-thirds full of water. Cut the neck off a balloon and stretch over the mouth of the cup, fitting it tightly (like a drum). Tape a straw to the top, making one straw end one-third from the drumhead edge, and the free end hanging off. Place next to a wall covered with paper and mark the free end position. Over the next month, you can track pressure changes amplified by the straw. Burping Bottle Tape a lightweight plastic funnel tightly to the top of a strong straw, inserting the other end of the straw into a hole drilled into the top of a water bottle. Use hot glue to seal up any holes. Pour water into the funnel and watch it burp regularly. Fountain Bottle Seal a 2-liter soda water bottle (half-full of water) with a lump of clay wrapped around a long straw, sealing the straw to the mouth of the bottle. Blow hard into the straw. As you blow air into the bottle, the air pressure increases. This higher pressure pushes on the water, which gets forced up and out the straw. Ping Pong Funnel Insert a ping pong ball into a funnel and blow hard. (You can tilt your head back so that the ball end points to the ceiling. Can you blow hard enough so when you invert the funnel, the ball stays inside? Can you pick up a ball from the table? As you blow into the funnel, the air where the ball sits in the funnel moves faster and generates lower air pressure than the rest of the air surrounding the ball. This means that the pressure under the ball is lower than the surrounding air which is, by comparison, a higher pressure. This higher pressure pushes the ball back into the funnel no matter how hard you blow or which way you hold the funnel. Squished Soda Can Heat an empty soda can (large beer cans actually will work better if you have one) in a skillet with a few tablespoons of water in the can over a hot stove. Have a shallow dish with about inch of ice water handy (enough water to make a seal with the top of the can). When the can emits steam, grab the can with tongs and quickly invert it into the dish. CRACK! The air in the can was heated, and things that are hot tend to expand. When you cool it quickly by taking it off the stove onto a cold plate, the air cools down and shrinks, creating a lower pressure inside. Since the surrounding air outside of the can is now higher, it pushes on all sides of the can and crushes it. Squished Balloon Blow a balloon up so that it is just a bit larger than the opening of a large jam jar and can’t be easily shoved in. Light a small wad of paper towel on fire and drop it into the jar. Place the balloon on top. When the fire goes out, lift the balloon and the jar goes with it! The air gets used up by the flame and lower the air pressure inside the jar. The surrounding air outside, now at a higher pressure than inside the jar, pushes the balloon into the jam jar. The Million Dollar Bet Take an empty water or soda bottle and lay it down horizontally on a table. Carefully set a small wadded up ball of paper towel in the mouth of the bottle. (The ball should be about half the size of the opening.) I bet you a million dollars that you can’t blow hard and get the paper to go into the bottle! You’re trying to force more air into the bottle, but there’s no room for the air already inside to go except back out the mouth of the bottle, taking the paper ball with it. Ping Pong Jump Cups Place a ping pong ball in a cup just barely bigger than the ping pong ball. Blow down on the ball and the ball jumps right out of the cup! Remember the ideas about lower and higher pressure? By blowing on the top of the ball, you created a lower pressure area than underneath the ball. And higher pressure pushes the ball right out of the cup! Sneaky Bottles (Modify one water bottle in advance by poking a small hole near the bottom of the bottle with a tack or pin.) Take two water bottles (one of them you just modified), and poke a balloon into each water bottle, stretching the end of the balloon over the mouth of the bottle. Blow into each one what happened? There’s no place for the air to go in the unmodified bottle, so you can’t blow up the balloon. On the other hand, there’s plenty of room for the balloon to expand in the modified bottle because there’s a place for the air to move when the balloon gets bigger it goes out the hole you punched. Flying Papers Hold a regular sheet of paper to your bottom lip (you may have to play a bit to find the exact location) and blow hard across the sheet. The sheet flies up! This is the same reason airplanes can fly. As you blow across the top of the sheet, you lower the air pressure (because the air is moving faster), and thus the pressure on the underside of the sheet is now higher, and higher air pressure pushes the sheet upwards. Kissing Balloons Blow up two balloons. Attach a piece of sting to each balloon. Have each hand hold one string so that the balloons are at nose-level, 6″ apart. Blow hard between the balloons and watch them move! The air pressure is lowered as you blow between the balloons (think of the air molecules as ping pong balls they balls don’t have enough time to touch the balloon surface as they zoom by). The air surrounding the balls that’s not really moving is now at a higher pressure, and pushes the balloons together. A Valentine Night to Remember!

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By James Newton A Typical Valentine’s date may go something like this; Send flowers, chocolate, and stuffed animal, Dinner, good restaurant, reveal big gift like jewelry, bar for drinks, and maybe dancing, home, sex. Nothing wrong with the typical date. It has worked for a very long time. I believe it relies to heavily on the Valentine gift, rather than the love that is supposed to be shared. Let’s see if we can do better. Let’s see if we can create a night for her to remember a lifetime! Imagine your lady coming home on Valentine’s Night and experiencing the following: As she approaches the house she notices all the lights are off. When she walks in, she hears soft romantic music and sees the candle light. She will begin to wonder what is going on. She sees a note. She reads it, a smile crosses her face. Ok, ok, I’ll play along. She sees a trail of rose petals, she follows to another candle and another note. She reads the note. Looks around, and begins removing some of her clothing. She follows the trail of rose petals into the master bath. As she opens the door she is struck with an awesome sight. A glowing bath, with candles everywhere, and a third note. She removes the rest of her clothing, and slides into the hot bath. Her lover, her Valentine, enters the bath carrying a tray with drinks, and chocolate dipped strawberries. Oh my, look at what he is wearing. He makes the statement he is there to serve her, his Valentine. They kiss. He then hands her a delicous cold drink. After she takes a sip, he hand feeds her a chocolate dipped strawberry. Mmmm, the hot bath, cold drink, and chocolate start there effects. She begins to relax. All her troubles begin to drift away as she sinks deeper into the tub. Pursing her lips to taste another chocolate strawberry. Another taste of her cold drink. The alchohol, the chocolate, and the atmosphere begin to arouse her. Her Valentine, her love begins to wash her body with a soothing sponge. They kiss as he washes her. She finds herself wanting him. But, alas, it is not to be yet. He tells her to dress in the outfit he has provided and to meet him in the bedroom. As she stands, he wraps her in an oversized towel, and then disappears. She put on this beautiful Valentine Lingerie that he has selected for her. The anticipation has made her heart race. She finds more surprises when she enters the candle lit bedroom. They make love. The end… or not. He has prepared a meal for her. They dress. He takes her by the hand and leads her into the dining room, seats her, and serves her a four course meal. They dance, they talk, they make love. Get the idea? Here is how you pull this off. Step One, Preparation: Call your loved ones mother or sister or best friend and tell them you are planning something special and you need to know the following. What size dress does your significant other wear? Is that considered a small, med, or large? Does she like chocolate covered cherries? Does she like grapes? Strawberries? If you already know this information, BRAVO! You just scored major points. If you do this a week or two ahead of time, you can save a few bucks by doing some of your shopping on-line. Find a window of opportunity. Planning is the key. You need to plan this day, If possible, send her away to see her Mom or Sister or best friend for at least 4-5 hours but, make sure you have an exact time she will be home. This is crucial! Timing is everything! Make sure the house is clean, and the kids are out of the way for the night. You can even tell her you are planning a surprise. Valentine’s Day is all about surprises. Since Valentine’s Day is on a Tuesday this year, you may want to celebrate the weekend before. Step two, Go Shopping: I know, I know, you’d rather go to the dentist. Relationships are about sacrifice. If you planned ahead, you may already have most of these items and saved yourself a few bucks and some time. You will need the following: 1.)Sexy Valentine Lingerie- Your choice in lingerie is important. Dental floss on an eyepatch is not going to do it. A great article on how to choose lingerie can be found here. you may find a great selection of Valentine’s Day lingerie here Also, if you really want to go all out… I suggest this Tuxedo Thong, or a Valentine print thong for yourself. You can even have a little fun and pick out something humorous if you like. 2) The Romantic gift. You have got to get her something you know she will love. If she is like most women, she has already started dropping hints, so pay attention. 3) Rose Petals and Flowers- Make sure you pick up plenty of Rose Petals. And some loose flowers. 4) Bath Products- A very specific item that can tip the scale is glow in the dark bubble bath. This stuff is amazing and can really impress your gal. If you can not find this stuff, pick up some regular bubble bath. Candles- You already know you need them. You need three kinds. Floaters, for the bath, Champagne candels, to mark her way to her surprise, and dinner candles for the table, I suggest long stem rose candles. 5) Food- If you know how to cook, excellent. You just scored major points! Just pick up what you need to cook the meal. Save the final steps of this meal for last. You are going to be very busy before you get to eat, but don’t worry, you will have worked up a huge appetite. I have included some simple aphrodisiac recipes for your Valentine Dinner. [I am not allowed to link to those recipes in this article, so, you'll have to do a search... sorry] Check the recipes for items you will need to pick up. I picked the fanciest and easiest to prepare recipes I could find, you can do this. If you do not know how to cook, or you don’t want to spend the time preparing a Valentine meal, or if you think you can’t pull of the Valentine recipes I have listed, thats ok. Stop by her favorite restaurant and pick something up. Remember, we are getting her favorites here, try to pick up seafood, or other aphrodisiacs. Don’t forget the champagne, wine or the ingredients to the love potion drink for something a little different. Check the ingredients and make sure you pick up everything you need. I have also included the recipe for chocolate dipped strawberries. Any sweet will do, but, chocolate is an aphrodisiac. Shopping is Done. Step three, The Notes: You have to let her know what’s going on, and you have to set the mood here. You can write your own notes or feel free to use these; Good Evening my Valentine, Tonight is all about you. If you follow my instructions you are in for a night of romance like you have never experienced before in your life. Why? Because my love for you is deep, and my passion for you grows each and every day. Because we spend too much time in our day to day life, and not enough time on us. Allow me to express my love for you, on this day for lovers, follow my instructions to the letter. Please leave the music playing, leave the lights off, and follow the rose pedals to the next note. Now write the 2nd note: At this point my Valentine, I ask you to remove some clothing- don’t worry, tonight is just the two of and I am not allowed to see you as of yet. Our passion together will be forever remembered. Please follow the rose pedals to the next note. Now write the 3rd note: Are you ready my Valentine? Tonight I plan to express my love in a way that words would never do.Tonight our passion will reach heights we have only dreamed of.Please remove the remainder of your clothing and follow the rose pedals into the bathroom. And read the last note.* you may also insert a Valentines Day love poem at this time.[I am sorry, but once again I am not allowed to link to the poems I have prepared for you, you will have to do a search] Now write the 4th and final note: Your bath is drawn, I will be in to serve you momentarily. Please slide into the bath. Make yourself comfortable and just relax Notes Done. Step four, the set-up: 30 to 40 minutes before she is due to arrive. You have to put everything into place. Put the first note somewhere close to where she will enter the house and find it quickly. Spread some of the rose pedals out into a trail leading about one third of the way to the bathroom and place the 2nd note. Lay out more rose pedals to about two thirds of the way to the master bath and place the third note. And another trail of rose pedals leading to the final note in the bath. Set a large candle at each note. Do not light yet. Spread some rose petals out on the bed. Place several candles around bedroom. Set the romantic gift of choice out on the bed. Place the lingerie in the bathroom. I suggest hanging the lingerie on the back of the bathroom door. Set several candles about the bathroom as close to the tub as possible without catching any towels on fire. Do not light yet. Pick out some soft romantic music. Your choice. I can suggest Barry White, Luther Vandross, or something along that line. Turn it on. Hopefully you have a CD player and can set it up to loop two or three CD’s You don’t want the music to stop in the middle of this if you can help it. Ensure that meal is going to stay hot, or is at the point where it can be heated or finished in 5 minutes or less. If you elected to go with a costume of your own, put it on. 10 minutes before her arrival, (you may want to verify this if possible, call her on cell phone, or find out from wherever she was) light the candles to get the aroma in the air. Start the tub. If you are using the suggested glow in the dark bubble bath, leave the lights on until she pulls in the drive. Make sure you run the water on the VERY hot side so that it will be at a nice temperature when she climbs in and put in the rose, or heart shaped floating candles. Arrange the snacks ( Strawberries, grapes, or what ever you chose) onto a platter on top of the kale with two glasses of the drink of choice. A nice heart shape arrangement would go nicely with the Valentine theme. When she pulls into the driveway. Take platter and get out of site (don’t spill the drinks). Turn off lights on the way including bathroom light (one light at entrance is allowed to be on). Hide in a closet, a spare room, or something. Do not answer her if she calls for you. Step Five, Action: When she has had a chance to get into the tub and settle in, it is time for you to put the play into action. Walk in with the tray and say something like My sweet Valentine, I have a snack and a drink for you. give her the drink, and HAND feed her the snack of choice. Offer to wash her back, use an oversized sponge, wash her back and allow yourself to rome freely washing the rest of her body. Make sure you mention how sexy she is. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT engage in sex at this time! Build the atmosphere up. No matter how hot she gets, or you get, do not start sex yet !!!! We don’t want to settle for a quick roll in the hay, we want a night to remember forever. You may use your mouth, and hands to tease her as much as you want. Keep feeding her the snacks and allowing her to drink. Before the water turns cold, and before you get to the point where you can no longer resist her. Stand up and say something like: You may now dry off ( hopefully you made sure there were clean, dry towels in the bathroom), and please put on the outfit that is hanging on the door, and join me in the bedroom. This is about her, but you still have control. Go to the bedroom, and wait for her beside the bed. Do not get in the bed yet. You want her to see the layout. When she enters the room, be sure to make a big deal about how sexy and beautiful she looks!! Now wave your hand out to display what you have displayed out on the bed. Her Valentine gift, the oils, and rose petals. Step six, give up control: At this point all you have to do is remain quiet, and let her take control. I am going to assume you know how to go about the rest of this step. I’m not making a porno book here. Step Seven, the coupe de gras: This is perhaps the most important step. It is known as post play or after play. This is the step that wins your Valentine’s love and creates the lasting me. Kind of like going for the two point conversion after the touchdown. By now, you will both have an appetite worked up. Put your outfits back on, with or without robes. Take her by the hand, lead her to the dining room, light the table candles, serve her dinner, and TALK to her. Don’t just talk to her, listen to her. Talk about her, and her needs. Put all your problems aside. Just talk to one another. I have included a recipe for a coffee drink that will impress her. Spend many hours here. (Note: My girlfriend loves this part!) If you are not married, this would be a great way, and time to pop the question. Offer to dance with her. You may even end up making love once again on the table. No matter what gift you got her, the focus is now on how romantic the evening is, and how much she loves you. She is likely to brag about this night for a long time to come. The best part is, she will be trying to figure out how she can plan a night for you to remember forever. Being in lingerie means you are in the business of Love. The Origins of Chile Peppers

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Eric Vinje Christopher Columbus didn’t just sail the ocean blue and discover the New World in 1492 while trying to find a short cut to the East Indies. He sampled a plant, thought it was a relative of the black pepper, and dubbed it a “pepper.” So began several hundred years of misinformation about chile peppers. Unlike what Christopher Columbus thought, they aren’t related to black pepper and they didn’t originate in India. Hot peppers actually came from somewhere in South America. There they were known as Aji [technically there should an accent over the "I" leaning towards the right]. Chile peppers, which hail from the genus Capsicum are not related to black pepper. Instead they are members of the nightshade (Solanaceae) family and are related to tomatoes, cherries and eggplant. “Well into the 19th century, most Europeans continued to believe that peppers were native to India and the Orient, until Alphonse de Candolle, a botanist, produced convincing linguistic evidence for the South America origin of the genus Capsicum,” states MSN.com’s Foodies Corner. Whether you call them aji or chile peppers, these plants were likely first cultivated as early as 5000 BC. By 1492, Native Americans had domesticated at least four species. In the West Indies, Columbus found several different capsicums cultivated by the Arawak Indians. Columbus might not have been right about the origins, but he did help popularize chile peppers. (A chile by any other name will be just as hot, right?) He brought back samples to the Iberian Peninsula and they quickly spread about the world. And if you think that today’s hot sauce explosion is amazing, check this out. According to the Foodies Corner of MSN.com, roughly 50 years after Columbus brought home peppers, they were being cultivated on all coasts of Africa, India, Asia, China, the Middle East, the Balkans, Central Europe and Italy. Peppers spread faster than kudzu. And although Columbus brought peppers to Spain, it was the Portugese traders who actually spread their use and cultivate, according to the Foodies Corner. Portuguese trading partners in turn spread peppers to Asia and the Arab world by the early 1500s. The Turks reportedly brought the chile pepper to Hungary in the mid-15th century. Today, no matter what language you speak, peppers are popular, especially with the Thais, who reportedly consume more chiles on a daily basis than any other people.
