The Tao of Sales And Marketing: The Only Reason Anybody Buys Anything

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By J D Moore Here’s the #1 secret to sales and marketing: No matter what veneer we put on it, there is only one reason in the whole world that anybody buys anything. Master that concept and rule the world. I’m working on it - join me. So here it is: the only reason that anybody buys anything is to feel relatively good. It sounds almost too simple right? Read on… I call this the Tao of sales and marketing because, like the Taoist model of the universe, first there is nothing, then the one thing, then two things, then 10,000 things. The one thing in my model is the idea of wanting to feel relatively good. Wanting to feel relatively good gives rise to two things - seeking pleasure and avoiding pain. From those two impulses we get our 10,000 made-up reasons for buying stuff. Every time I talk about this, I make some people uncomfortable. Some like to believe that all their purchases are rational. Of course they are frequently the ones buying cars and houses they can’t afford. People are great at rationalizing everything. Rationalizing is another thing we do to make ourselves feel good. Brain scan research shows us that every single decision we make starts out in the emotional center of the brain. Even very simple decisions start as a feeling. Then, we rationalize by moving through the logical centers of the brain. Honestly, if people made decisions rationally would we have wars, drug abuse, or karaoke? Probably not. My wife and I bought a house right after we got married. The price was good, in a good neighborhood, and I knew that the equity would grow fast. But the real reasons we bought were more emotional. It made us feel like we were really married to own a house. I feel better paying mortgage than paying rent. I have a greater sense of ownership of my home than I ever did with an apartment. It may have made logical sense to buy the house, but logic is not enough to get somebody to buy. A critical part of the Tao of sales and marketing is the phrase, “relatively good”. You might just say, “better”. We can’t always make somebody feel truly good. However we might be able to take away some of their emotional pain. This is a gigantic motivator for people. Here’s a Marketing Comet Principle: The cure to any ill will always outsell the prevention. How much could you get for a carton of orange juice on a ship of people afflicted with scurvy? Probably you could become the richest person on the ship. However, I don’t think you’re going to increase the perceived value of orange juice at your grocery store by slapping up a sign that reads, “prevent scurvy!” Not too many people in America feel the pains of scurvy and would be willing to give up their life savings to get a carton of juice. How to use this in your sales or marketing efforts: There are many ways to use this principle, here are a few: 1. Make people happy when they do business with you. 2. Find out what people’s most painful problem is and offer to solve it. 3. Persuade with emotion, and give them logic to rationalize with 4. Pay attention to the emotional impact of your marketing materials 5. Communicate with people in ways that make them more comfortable Sales and marketing are ultimately about engineering emotion and state of mind - getting people emotionally ready to buy. Indoor Gardening Lights and Shelving

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By Susanne Garris Its always springtime when you have an indoor garden complete with lights and shelving. With the right setup, you can start seedlings, grow herbs, or experiment with orchids and other flowering exotics. One of the first things you will need to address for your indoor gardening is lighting. No matter what else you do for your plants, if they do not have the proper lighting they will not thrive. Lighting is, in fact, the most important aspect of indoor gardening. When choosing decorative plants for your home, if you want to start without special lighting, look for plants that require medium to low light, like Philodendrons, some ivy and some ferns. Plant are quick to let you know they are unhappy when they are not getting enough light. Symptoms are thin stems and small leaves. Most plants with medium light requirements will benefit from a south facing window. Windows that face east and west will generally give plants with medium light requirements adequate sunlight, as well. However, plants that prefer low light will probably prefer a north facing window. Even in the middle of winter, an unobstructed south- or east-facing window will admit sufficient light to nurture all but the most sun-loving plants. Of course, light will be increased if you open the drapes or pull up the shades. Additionally, houseplants should be rotated every other week to expose all sides to the sunbeams. Bay windows, sun porches and rooms with skylights that provide light coming from several angles tend to nurture your inside garden the best; but, any window will do if plants are positioned so they don’t lurk in each other’s shadows. Now you get to decide what kind of plants you want to grow inside! There are hundreds of different houseplants that will happily grow and thrive on your windowsill. What you choose is based on your style and dcor. I prefer the herbs that lend a Country French style, but you may like the Southwest style of cacti. Country living lends itself to the lush and leafy plants. Your interior style will often decide the plants you will chose. But theres nothing wrong with just picking your favourite! There are no rules when you unleash your green thumb. When you arrive at your local garden center, look for foliage plants which appear to be insect and disease free. Check the undersides of the foliage and leaves for signs of insects or disease. Select plants that look sturdy, clean, well potted, shapely, and well-covered with leaves. Choose plants with healthy foliage. Avoid plants which have yellow leaves. Plants which have new flowers and leaf buds along with young growth are usually of superior quality. For the serious indoor gardener, there are specially built lights and shelves. Home-built light carts are normally less expensive than commercial units. If you are handy with tools, you can build a shelving unit for only $50-$100 dollars while others have cost $1000 or more ready built commercial model. It all depends on what you choose. Your local hardware store is a far more cost effective place to shop for these rather than a specialty garden shop. You will enjoy many days surrounded by flourishing green plants despite the weather, when you decide to grown using indoor gardening lights and shelving. 5 Steps to Stick to a Weight Loss Program

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Craig Ballantyne Already worrying about sticking to your New Year’s? Before you fall off the fitness wagon for the holidays, here are some important fat loss workout and nutrition tips are for you. After all, the holiday eating bonanza will soon be over (honestly!) and you’ll be ready to workout for fat loss and to look good at the beach. And you want to be ready for that, don’t you? Here are my 5 simple steps to help you lose fat and get lean. 1. Find a source of social support. It can be a friend, spouse, or co-worker, but research from Stanford University shows the ideal social support is a professional that you feel obligated to report to on a consistent basis. 2. Eat 6 small, balanced snacks and meals per day, rather than 2 or 3 large meals. A study from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that eating 6 times per day was associated with eating fewer calories per day, lowering cholesterol levels, and lowering post-meal insulin levels. Eating several small meals per day might even help you burn more calories. Combine an increased meal frequency with an increased protein and fiber intake, and you’ll see your body composition improve rapidly. 3. Commit to eating whole, natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, and lean protein sources, rather than processed foods like muffins, fast food, and sugary snacks. Use fitday.com to monitor your food intake. 4. If you want to lose fat, start by reducing your calorie intake by 200 calories per day. One easy way to do this is to replace sweetened beverages with water or Green Tea. 5. To get lean, you’ll need to include some form of strength training and cardiovascular training. If you haven’t worked out in years, start conservatively and get professional advice on how to structure your workouts in the safest, and most efficient and effective manner possible. Don’t just focus on cardio. You need strength training to build your muscles to help you handle cardio type activities while reducing your risk of injury. I am often asked if there is anything that can be done about the decrease in metabolism that happens as we age. Well, the nutrition tips mentioned above give you at least one helpful tip. And of course, sticking with a consistent exercise program will also maximize metabolism. Eating properly and exercising can keep your metabolism at optimal levels for several decades - you are never too old to lose fat, gain muscle, and get lean. The good news is that you don’t have to spend hour after hour in the gym to get great results. A good program should have you in and out of the gym (shower included) in only an hour. Or better yet, get a program that you can do at home with only your bodyweight or some light dumbbellls, without the need to go to a fancy, expensive, crowded mega-gym. Post Germination Bonsai Growing Tips

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Patrick Desnoyers Well after providing germination instructions for the seeds, I felt the need to add some information on how to proceed once your seeds have germinated. Now, the following instructions will need adjustments depending on your situation. First, lets assume the tree seeds have been sown and germinated indoor. This is not the best method, but can be the only way for some people because of their urban situation. Usually, because of the lack of light, temperature variations and natures obstacles, such a wind, seedling grown indoor will have bigger leaves, long internodes and be thinner. The explanation is simple, the plant instead of bulking up on light, will grow lengthened in order to reach for the maximum light as possible. For this, the sunflower plant is fun to watch, It require alot of lights, and the plant, will grow very tall, in order to be the tallest among othe plants, and will also turn itself wherever the sun is. This is called phototropism. So in conclusion, you want to have the most light possible for your seedlings. If needs be, use neon tube, mixing red and blue color. After, a while, and supposing you are at the right time of year, you can bring your seedling outside. The best time to do that, is to bring them outside, when your indoor and outdoor temperature are similar. You will want to keep your seedling in the shade for 2-3 weeks, for them to acclimatize to the surplus of light. Second, if you have sown and germinated seeds outside in a container. As they are already outside, the young seeddlings will benefit of the sunlight from the start. The disadvantage of growing in a container, is that the roots have limited space to grow. This will result in a long tap root all curled up in the pot. A basic principle of tree growing, is that the foliage of the tree will often mimic the roots development. So if your roots are all curly, the tree will grow curly. Another disadvantage is that growth will be limited because root developments is limted. To prevent that, it is often suggested to cut the tap root at a very young age, forcing the seedling to grow lateral roots. This method is often used to shorten the trunk and have the first branch lower to the root system. Altough, it is efficient, I prefer the next method of growing seedlings. Third, wich is the best way, is to sow tree seeds, germinate them, and grow the seedlings in a field. This method will mimic nature, but often do it better. In nature, tree seeds germinate under a layer of leaves and dead branches, forcing the seedling to make its way to the top by any means, even if it grows curbed. But if you grow your seeds in a field/garden, without obstacles, the seedling will grow with a straight trunk and benefit from the lights and wind. Plus, the roots will have all the space they want, benefiting the foliage and crown development. If the seedlings are getting all the light they can get, the plant will grow bigger and trunk and branches will have short internodes. With this method, you dont have to cut the tap roots because youll have sufficient branching near the roots (nebari) of the seedling. You should leave the seedlings alone for at least a year, and next spring you should proceed to dig them, cut the excessive roots, create your nebari by combing the roots, and plant them in a container. This will yield the best result for young seedlings and be on a good start for nice bonsai. Avid full time hobby bonsai grower. As been practicing bonsai and gardening for more then 8 years. Weight Loss Motivation Guidelines

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Anne Collins Introduction If there is one thing that all dietitians and obesity experts agree on, it is that personal motivation is the foundation of all weight loss success. No matter how healthy the diet-plan, or what combination of calories and nutrition it contains, it won’t help anyone lose weight unless they follow it for long enough. Their willingness to do so depends entirely on how motivated they are to change their eating and exercise habits in order to achieve their weight loss goals. Motivation Advice Hard To Find The Internet offers a bewildering array of diets and weight loss eating plans, but advice on motivation when dieting is in extremely short supply. Given the strong link between diet-compliance and motivation, this lack of motivational help is surprising to say the least. It may stem from the fact that many diets are created by people who lack hands-on experience of helping people to manage their weight. Perhaps they see weight loss as a biological rather than a human process. If so, I think it’s a mistake. Motivating Yourself To Lose Weight I tell all my clients that starting a weight loss diet is like starting a journey. And like any journey it requires preparation. We need to look ahead and plan how to overcome problems that occur along the way. By doing this we take control of the process and greatly increase our chances of success. Unfortunately, many dieters don’t plan ahead. Instead, they take things as they come, and rely upon two things: their initial enthusiasm, and (when this wears off) their willpower. But enthusiasm and willpower aren’t enough to overcome the temptations and difficulties which we face when we try to change our eating habits and lifestyle. Stop for a moment and imagine taking your family on a camping trip. Do you rely on your enthusiasm and willpower for food and shelter? Of course not. In all probability you spend hours beforehand carefully packing and preparing for every eventuality, and the whole trip is carefully planned out in advance. Yet when you start a diet-journey, many of you set off without any kind of planning or preparation. It’s as if you are convinced that everything will go smoothly. But let’s face it, what diet ever runs smoothly? Answer: none! So what happens when we encounter a big problem? Answer: we wobble, and often quit. We Need To Plan New Thinking Habits Planning a diet-journey doesn’t involve packing equipment, it involves packing “new thoughts”. We need to rehearse and adopt new ways of thinking in order to overcome problems during our journey. This isn’t psycho-babble - this is plain common sense. After all, successful dieting is largely a matter of motivation and attitude. It’s about what goes on between our ears! The Most Common Dieting Problem The most common problem we face when dieting is boredom. This typically occurs when our initial enthusiasm for losing weight wears off, and we become tired of watching what we eat. We become dispirited, and slightly depressed at the idea of having to maintain our “sensible eating habits” while everyone else seems to be having a good time. Losing Direction Leads To Boredom We get bored when we lose our sense of direction. So to overcome it, we need to reestablish exactly where we are going. Remember, dieting is not an aimless process, it’s a journey from A to B. Here’s how we think when we lose direction: “I’m really bored with dieting, it’s such a pain. I don’t have any freedom any more. I can’t eat this, I can’t eat that… I’m fed up. I can’t share food with the girls at work, I can’t eat at my favorite restaurants, I have to keep saying No to food when I visit friends, I have to watch my family eating in front of me, I don’t have time to exercise properly, I’m never going to lose weight and I’m feeling really miserable. Heck! Life is too short for this…” This kind of thinking is totally demotivating. It focuses exclusively on the negative aspects of dieting and signals complete aimlessness. No weight loss goal is achievable when we think like this. A Better Way of Thinking Now let me show you some better alternatives. Please compare them with the above example. Example 1 “Hmm, my diet isn’t going so good. But I’m not going to make excuses. I’ve wasted enough time making excuses to myself. From now on, no matter what happens, I’m going to be honest with myself. So what do I want? I want to lose weight and get myself into shape. Why? Because I really want that beach holiday (or other very selfish goal) which I promised myself. I want it so bad I can touch it! Okay, so I need to learn how to eat properly - big deal! I can easily do this if I put my mind to it. Heck! Eating good food isn’t difficult. What’s difficult is seeing myself being overweight for the rest of my life. I want something better. Something a lot better than a fistful of nachos or a dollop of fatty dessert.” Example 2 “Hmm, my diet isn’t going so good. So let me remind myself why I’m dieting. All my life I’ve been eating to please other people. My mom said “eat this”, so I ate it. My school friends said “have some of this”, so I had lots. My work colleagues now say “have a slice of this”, so I have two! And my kids say “you must try this”, so I try it. And every time I make an effort to lose weight, everyone says “forget about your diet, eat some of this” so I do. Well that’s enough! No more eating to please other people. Today I’m going to start eating to please me. And what pleases me is the idea of wearing a size (?) dress to my daughter’s wedding (or other very selfish goal). I realise I need to eat properly, but this is a ridiculously tiny price to pay for achieving my goal. Heck! Eating good food isn’t difficult. What’s difficult is carrying my excess weight around all day. I want something better. Something a lot better than a 4-cheese pizza or a box of cookies.” Example 3 “Hmm, my diet isn’t going as smoothly as I thought it would. Never mind, I’m sure this is quite normal. I can’t expect to change my regular eating habits without a few hiccups along the way. Besides, I’m looking for more than the few minutes of pleasure I get from filling my stomach with junk. I want a lifetime of pleasure - real pleasure from looking good and being taken seriously and who knows, maybe finding a great partner. I know other people see me as a fat person - goodness, at times I do too! - but this is exactly WHY I want to change. I’m tired of being fat. Real tired. And if this means learning how to eat good food, then let’s do it! And when it gets tough I’m going to login to Anne Collins forum and get help. All I know is, I want to make it happen!” Example 4 “Hmm, my diet isn’t going as smoothly as I thought it would. This morning I watched my colleagues eat a whole birthday cake - it looked delicious - and I sat there feeling miserable and deprived. Then I went for lunch with a friend and chose a tuna salad while she ate half a pizza followed by two slices of cheesecake. It was torture! But then I started thinking to myself “what’s more important - a few slices of cheesecake, or a really lean shape?” And I decided that looking good was what I really wanted. I know that it’s not going to happen overnight, but if I can persevere and learn good eating habits along the way, I know I’m gonna make it…” Example 5 “Hmm, my diet isn’t going as smoothly as I thought it would. But at least it’s not a race. So who cares if I have a few wobbly moments, as long as I get where I want to go. At 26 I’m in the prime of my life, and I want to make the most of it. I’m tired of my slim friends getting all the best guys. I want to turn a few heads myself. I want the attention and I want to be taken seriously, and if I have to spend 12 months dieting - heck! I’m gonna do it. Last week I saw a friend of mine in hospital who lost a leg in a car crash. The doctors say it’s going to take her 12 months to relearn how to walk. Now that is tough. By comparison, my journey is easy. And as long as I keep reminding myself of this, I’ll be fine.” Points To Remember 1. A diet is a journey from A to B. 2. Feeling bored is a sign we are losing our direction. 3. When we lose direction we need to regain it, fast! 4. The way to regain direction is to remind yourself why you are dieting. 5. You are dieting because you want something better than a plate of fattening food. Getting Help To Lose Weight Changing our eating habits is much easier when we get support from other people. So make sure your online weight management plan includes membership of a forum. Because only people can offer you the sort of encouragement you need to achieve your personal weight loss goals. Successful Business Marketing

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

By Dianne Perrett Successful Business Marketing means different things to different people but the bottom line is that whether you are marketing a product, a brand, the business itself or anything else, your success will depend on having a plan - and following it. Every now and then in marketing, as in life, a series of unplanned or unexpected events take place and voila! you have an unexpected but successful outcome. For example, a mysterious foreign millionaire takes a liking to the plastic gizmo your factory produces and you suddenly land an export order worth millions. That is NOT successfull business marketing! It’s nice to have it happen but it’s not wise to count on for your future prosperity! For sustained successful business marketing, you must have a marketing plan in place. And not just any old marketing plan that is looked at once a year and then stashed in the bottom draw to gather dust while the companies marketing efforts stumble from one disjointed attempt to the next. Successful business marketing depends on having a simple, functional yet effective marketing plan in place against which all marketing efforts and marketing spend can be measured. In this way, irrespective if you are a one man home-based business or the next Microsoft, you ensure that your marketing efforts are coordinated and focused on your outcome. Unfortunately, a simple yet effective marketing plan is not that simple to come by. Traditionally a marketing plan is a pretty expensive document that can run to hundreds of pages and seems to be specifically designed to baffle everyone who actually has to implement the thing. In my experience, the most successful business marketing plans are those that are produced in house. This means that the marketing plan is developed and evolves utilizing the expertise and knowledge of those involved in the business. There are several advantages to this approach. Firstly, by being part of the development of the plan, you get the buy-in of those who have to implement the plan; secondly, because they are involved from the beginning, the implementers understand the plan; and thirdly, you utilize the internal expertise and knowledge the very factors that often constitute the businesss competitive advantage. Consistent successful business marketing is not an act of genius or sheer dumb luck. Rather, it is the continual application and monitoring of a marketing plan that is simple to understand and easy to implement. Get it right, and the world is your oyster! Dianne Perrett is an international marketing consultant. Irrespective of the size or nature of the business, she gets her clients to follow a simple six step process to develop their own winning marketing plans. Viagra Can Cure ED Due To Antipsychotic Drug Use

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Naoremromeo_Meitei] Naoremromeo Meitei People with erectile dysfunction due to the use of antipsychotic drugs for the treatment of schizophrenia and similar other mental disorders have reasons to cheer, as Viagra is established to be an effective medicament to overcome the dysfunction. According to a press release in the American Journal of Psychiatry, the use of Viagra (sildenafil) can effectively improve the erection of an erectile dysfunction patient with history of antipsychotic drug use. The study was conducted by a team of medical scientists led by Dr.Rajesh Gopalakrishnan in the renowned Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. Dr. Rajesh and his colleagues closely studied the effect of Viagra on 32 married men with erectile dysfunction caused due to the use of antipsychotic medicines, in a placebo-controlled situation. The study gave very interesting and encouraging results for the ED patients. The study found that the patients who were given Viagra had an incredibly significant improvement in terms of their erection, as they were able to increase the frequency of their erection, and the duration too. And the patients could have a more satisfying sexual intercourse than before. Further clinical assessment and a deeper examination of the study revealed that Viagra (sildenafil) can triple the chances of a successful erection and a fulfilling sexual enjoyment in antipsychotic-induced erectile dysfunction patients. Another startling fact that came of the research was the great tolerance level of Viagra in the patients. The report also said that there were no incidents of discontinuation during the course of the treatment. Other than the commonly occurring mild side effects like headaches and a stuffy nose, no serious side effects of Viagra use could be seen in the patients too. The recent finding is quite akin to other published reports and studies on the use of Viagra in the treatment of patients with erectile dysfunction caused due to mixed reasons. Say, it is not very different from the study of Viagra use in a patient, who has spinal cord injuries and diabetes as the causes of ED. Erectile dysfunction due to the use of antipsychotic medicaments can often lead to a number of problems because of its poor medical conformity. However, the path breaking research has given a new impetus to the treatment of erectile dysfunction patients with mental disorders like schizophrenia, giving a ray of hope to the patients. Personalized Wristbands

Monday, September 17th, 2007

By Jason Montag There are a number of things that you can do in order to make your party guests remember the occasion they spent with you. Lots of people like to make up coffee mugs with words or pictures on them and others like to make custom printed shirts with the date and the type of occasion it was. These are both good ideas however they are very outdated and not many guests find them impressive anymore. The one thing that everyone likes these days and loves to show off and wear is custom wristbands. You know what kind of bands I am talking about. The silicone or rubber bands that are available in a ton of colors and styles and can be embossed or engraved with anything and can be ordered for any event. The trend started with the yellow ones that a famous bicyclist created so that he could raise money for cancer. Since then the popularity has only skyrocketed. Now you can find a band for any cause or disease. This is very good because it accomplishes more than one purpose. It gives the people that love the bands something to wear and display and it also gives the cause money to support their efforts. There is no reason that only large groups with huge orders should be able to have their own custom bands. Now you can easily and cheaply get your own to say whatever it is that you want. Nicknames, club names and team names are only the beginning. There is no end to what can be put on a band and the orders can even be as small as one or two bands. Get your message out to the public and use the vehicle that works the best, wristbands are the wave of the future and the current fashion do. Get your own custom wristbands or design a customized wristband for your club or group. 9 Proven Ways To Get Your Man To Emotionally Open Up To You

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Christine Akiteng There is an African saying: the bigger the heart, the more someone tries to hide it. While some men react to their emotional/sensitive side a little super sensitively, most men react in a distant/aggressive/dominant way to cover up their more gentle side. By simply approaching things differently you can get to the gentle side of your man: 1. Speak up, he cant read your mind Acting like he should know what you are thinking or feeling (if he really loves you) is a waste of a lot of time. You only end up getting more worked up because you think he is intentionally ignoring you. The truth of the matter is most men are not that good at reading women and even those who think they can often get it wrong. So stop knocking furniture around, banging utensils or screaming at the kids and just speak up. 2. Be calm when you present your grievances Like I said while he may seem aggressive/dominant, most men (those who are more in touch with their masculine energies) dont like direct confrontation with emotions that is their Achilles heel. The more emotional/sensitive type will square it out with you and shout his lungs to fitness but most men just keep quiet or walk away. Keeping calm is non-threatening to him, and although you may not get the response you want immediately, at least youll be heard. 3. Always think big picture Men tend to look at the significant or important things and get easily turned off by excessive concern over trivial matters (of course they are not trivial to us, you know that and I know that) but if you want to get across to him, then start with the most significant or important things and if he hasnt tuned out yet, you can move on to sweating the small stuff. 4. Give him time to think Do no ask him how he feels about this or that and sit there waiting for an answer, thats a womans way of sharing feelings. When you get the usual okay, fine or well dont push and nag. Tell him you’ll give him time to think about it and you’ll ask again later or tomorrow. And then give him time to think before he can share or act upon his feelings. 5. When he opens up and wants to share his feelings, let him Just listen without finishing his sentences for him, interrupting him, trying to interpret what you think he is trying to say, or jumping back and forth from topic to topic. Stay in the moment and refrain from all the other stuff he should have shared many years ago but didnt. He probably doesnt even remember it, so what are you trying to prove by digging up buried bones? 6. Offer a viewpoint not advice When he asks what you think he is actually looking forward to your approval on how well he is doing sharing his feelings. The natural therapist in us always rushes with advice and unfortunately this same tendency shuts most men down, emotionally. While you think you are being supportive, what he hears is, If you were smart, youd know that 7. Let him know you appreciate him Its so easy to fall into the trap of constantly telling him what he is doing wrong that you forget (or dont even notice) what he is doing right. Instead of constantly telling him what he is not doing right, do more complimenting him on what he is doing right. When you later complain about a few things he will know he is not being criticized because he is not good enough but you are just not satisfied or happy with that particular thing. 8. Take time to share the things hes most passionate about, like sports Most men let their emotional guard down when they are deep into something they are passionate about. Just sharing in his passion will most definitely get the two of you more emotionally connected making it easier to share other emotional stuff too. 9. Last but not least just be there for him Let him know you are there for him by being emotionally open yourself. Its unrealistic to expect him to be emotionally open when you are emotionally shut down or get emotionally overwhelmed.
